Not just limited to jewellery and accessories, metallics are definetely hanging in our wardrobes too. And that doesn't just mean beaded or sequin evening dresses. Metallics are all over the daywear ranges to. So how do you pull it off for formal daywear?
As with most trends it's simply a case of doing it right. Here are my style tips on how to experiment with flashes of metallic for a day at Royal Ascot, friends weddings, or other race meetings ladies day.

When wearing Metallics for a day at the rcaes, or other formal daywear, just do so by adding one shimmery piece of clothing, plus accessory – not a head to toe metallic "Spaceman".
Wearing your glitz item on upper body, avoid looking washed out by selecting a metallic that best suits your skin tone, hair and eye color. Silver works well with warm complexions, gold flatters cooler tones, and copper or rose gold compliments blue eyes.
If you still fear wearing super glitzy metallics for daywear is a little too out-there, then choose matte finishes and pair them with classic, neutral colours -- tan, black or navy, for example.
For racing events and weddings where you are wearing hat, bag, and shoes you can opt for the all metallics on accessories and keep the dress to your safe shift in neutrals.
One of my favourite colourways, that has been seen a lot (most famously by Balmain, and copied by many) is black, white and gold. The can't possibly fail monochrome black and white, given the modern twist with the Metallic gold.

A day at Royal Ascot, or other Race Meetings is the perfect time to wear the Metallics for Daywear, as Racing Fashion can often happily cross with outfits that would often feel more "Eveningwear". When wearing metallics during the day, stay away from anything too tight or too short. Tight is red carpet, and short says "Disco".
Select pleated or A-line skirts, tailored trousers, or metallic cardigans.

I love the fashion-forward combination of a futuristic metallic with bold yellow, for friends and family attending weddings, or a day at Royal Ascot Ladies Day.
The metallic trend is going nowhere fast, but no one wants to go over board with their metallics anymore than they do their yellow. With yellow being something most want to keep away from their face, and Metallics being so on trend currently, worn half and half is a marriage made in heaven.
