The answer is... absolutely not! From the palest oyster blush to darkest dusty hues, pink has definitely had a makeover. Those who fear pink is too girlie and only works on Barbie – now have a wealth of options that can work for them.
Pink is a colour that you typically only see the "Girliest" of Girls wearing. It’s Barbies colour, and most have only ever experimented with, in very small quantities. since our tenth birthday.
Consider your outfit for the races or friends weddings well though, and pink isn't so difficult to work with after all.
Here are my style tips on how to filter pink into your outfits:
This post includes suggestions of items I've hunted out on the Internet for you. If you look through and see anything you like and click the links, I get a little diddy commission, and if you buy the item, the brand will even buy me a latte to thank me.
To avoid looking baby doll, keep it fuss-free. Stay away from excessive bows, sequins and heavy appliqué. Stick to streamlined, silhouette-enhancing dresses, with slick tailoring and fitted waists. Avoid anything unstructured or you’ll be in blancmange territory.
The Giles Pink Doppio dress in our examples below is one of my favourites for both it's shape and colour.
Pair with other colours as head to toe pink still pushes the bondaries. Navy, Burgundy, Plum, and Greys are ideal companions.
One of the most poplular combos for Pink is Navy. Whether your style is fashion-forward or classic, you can't go wrong with this colour combo. Super pretty outfit for either a day at the races, or a Mother of the Bride.

Hear the suggestion of Green and Pink and your first instinct might be - “Really?”. But yes, this combination happens all the time in nature. Nature never gets its colours wrong. Of all the colour pairings for Green, this Pink is the freshest and most joyous.
Colours are often responsible for the way we feel. Choose this combination for your friends wedding, or day at the races, and you’re guaranteed a playful day.

Work with all the boldest florals prints that are also on Trend right now.
The Fitted Floral Sachi & Babi Noir Dress below with beautiful wavy panelled mid section, has a very grown up shape. For my customer that had this dress for Royal Ascot, I arranged the White Wavy Slice to mirror the waist line. We then picked out other fun playful shades for the bag and shoes, giving the outfit depth and playfulness rather than “Sweet Baby Girl.” This outfit demonstrates you can do grown up pink, with playful flair.

I adore the below outfits for a day at the races. A long A Line skirt in a Bold Floral print is the perfect skirt for a day at the races, and in a print that also features dark Navy and Royal, you can bring those colours in to darken the outfit in other pieces too, like the bag or jacket.

I love the fashion-forward combination of a futuristic metallic with candy pink, for friends and family attending weddings.
The metallic trend is going nowhere fast, but no one wants to go over board with their metallics anymore than they do their pinks (unless you're the bridesmaids under strict instruction to do so!). With both Pinks and Metallics being so on trend currently, and with neither being something you want to wear head-to-toe, worn half and half is a marriage made in heaven.
